Abe no Masahiro is the grandson of the great onmyouji Abe no Seimei, who passed his teachings on to his grandson. Masahiro lost his sixth sense and the ability to see spirits because his grandfather sealed it away for his own safety, but with Mokkun (or Guren) as his guide, he works to become the best onmyouji ever!

Little by little, Masahiro reveals his true power, with Mokkun as his protector and the other shikigami slowly starting to acknowledge him as Seimei's successor. Trying hard to become the best onmyouji, to surpass his grandfather-"the old fox demon" or "kitsune"- he has to stop the foreign demons who came from China and keep his promise of protecting the princess of the Fujiwara Clan.

After defeating the demons from China, Masahiro returns back to his normal routine. However, a mysterious woman named Kazane comes and summons a vengeful spirit to wreak havoc in the capital (Aka Kyoto). It is later discovered that her purpose is to kill Masahiro's grandfather, who she thought killed her parents. She is also after Guren/Touda/Mokkun because he was forced to take part of the killing of her "father", Ryuushi. Now Seimei and Masahiro have to deal with this new opponent. 阴阳师，是一种日本古代以除妖降魔来为生的职业，其中最具有代表性的人物莫过于大名鼎鼎的“安倍晴明”、“役小角”等人，而与之相关的影视动画等优秀作品也层出不穷（也不乏滥作……）。而由日本小说家结城光流先生创作的《少年阴阳师》已决定于今年１０月份动画化，讲述的是安倍晴明的孙子（年方１３岁的安倍昌浩，虽然素质极高但做为阴阳师还缺乏锻炼）与一位魔物“もっくん”一起修炼，最终成为一代优秀阴阳师的故事…………
